Sign at local church:
One of the local churches frequently puts up signs with little explanation. This week it says "Macho should be dead"
Anyone care to discuss?

The Randy Savage hate has really gotten out of hand...
Guess it depends on the definition of "macho". Ken Graves is certainly a manly man, but he's also very gracious.
For the record, I think the sign is misguided.
As Christians, I think we are called to power and to grace. Without the power, our displays of grace are pretty empty and meaningless.
We should not roll over and allow our wives and children to be injured by society. We are to lay our lives on the line for them, as Christ layed his life out for us.
If Christ didn't have a legion of angels at his disposal and he was simply overpowered by the Jewish and Roman authorities, would his sacrifice be an act of grace, or an act of helplessness? Would we really worship a helpless God?
When Christ returns as a warrior (Rev 19:11-16), are these folks going to say that he too should be dead?
Sounds like a matter of semantics to me. First, in Spanish, macho simply means "man" or "male". Make your own judgment about that.
In English macho generally means exaggerated, over aggressive, dominating masculinity. These tend to be traits of an abuser. I don't think that is a good thing.
The traits Josh describes in his comment pertain to the definition of masculinity. "Having qualities traditionally ascribed to men, as strength and boldness." These are good things.
I say "macho" should be dead. "Masculinity" on the other had tends to be lacking in American society.
