Don't Email us!
I have a bill that I am going to be a bit late on. It is kinda difficult to track people down when you work a strange shift. Usually, I can call and leave a message, but then I risk them calling me back and waking me up.
Today I was in such a situation, so I emailed my power company. This is how the exchange went:
Hi Josh,
Yes, you may bring your payment on Monday, May 15th.
In the future, please call our Customer Service Department at 9xx-xxxx to make payment arrangements or place a note in our night drop box (if telephoning during the day is difficult).

Subject: Payment
I am going to have difficulty making my payment until 5/15/06. If I bring the full payment on Monday will that be okay?
Let me know.
Thanks,
Josh Reighley
Isn't this strange? If you don't want people to email you, then why would you publish your email address? I thought about writing them back. I will let them know that I will drop the note in their night box next time, but I expect them to reply by slipping their reply inside my screen door.
As an electric company wouldn't they rather i used their electrons then Exxon's fuel to communicate with them?
I am amused.
